"ISKCON and Interfaith - the Hare Krishna Movement in relation to people of faith in God."
As emailed to ISKCON Canberra by Bhakta Das.
As the co-ordinator of Interfaith Dialogue at Melbourne temple and especially after our involvement with the Parliament of the World's Religions late last year, we are enthused to get other ISKCON family members involved to participate with this most worthwhile and exciting preaching opportunity.
We have found that relationships of trust and friendship can develop from sincere dialogue with people of other faiths. This can inspire religious people from all traditions to work together in a God Conscious way to develop social harmony in our modern world, which is beneficial to all.
Some areas covered in the presentation/discussion are:
humility, tolerance, and respect in relation to people from other faiths;
appreciation of our own spiritual tradition;
developing a broader network for preaching/teaching opportunities and fundraising;
developing ourselves to have a greater ability to present KC to the Australian public;
benefits of interacting with Hindu groups;
and other topics.
